This week I’d like us to focus on the power of thoughts. I’m pretty sure, that many of us have heard the words: “what you think you become.” Simply put, this means… if you only have negative thoughts, you become negative but if you have positive thoughts you become positive.

Now let’s be real, I don’t think the Buddha when he penned these words meant that situations are always such that we can just have positive thoughts all of the time, because life happens right?
The main concept here is that we have the choice to think positive thoughts in difficult and challenging situations. This of course takes practice and that is why I introduce the concept of affirmations this week.
So…. What are affirmations? Well, affirmations simply put are phrases or words that you repeat to yourself to change your thoughts to become more encouraging and positive. When done consistently, over time they can replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts and the resultant effects are improved self esteem, improved confidence and improved wellbeing to name but a few benefits. Now who doesn’t want that?
Let us then start our journey of improved self love. I want to challenge you, for the next 21 days, to make time every morning, to look into the mirror, straight into your own eyes and recite the following affirmations:
I am enough
I am powerful
I am loved
I am energised
I matter
I am strong
I am capable of achieving greatness
I am in charge of my life
Be the best You, that You can be!
Yours in wellness
